I ordered them today, based on your recommendation. I will be using them as monitors for our duo - "Just the Two of Us".

My main speakers are the EV SX100a powered speakers.

I currently run my keyboard (Tyros3) direct to the EV's. With the monitors it looks like I will have to run the Podiums speakers through a mixer.

The mixer has 2 stereo channels for the speakers, and 4 inputs for mics. I will continue to run the singers mic through the keyboard for the effects. I will plug my mic into the mixer, since I don't sing.

Any suggestions or words of wisdom?

Jerry

Jerry I believe your EV powered speakers have a line out..Run the Podiums from the line out of the EV's..

Warning the only input into the Podiums is a line level signal...or the warranty will be void..

BTW: Just how good are the Podium Pro Audio powered speakers?

I replaced the Yorkville Powered 12 (NX520P) speakers with the Podium 1204 powered speakers...and another band is using the 1503's replacing Yamaha club series..

We use Podium 802's as our only pa in a couple venues (trio, playing 60's and 70's dance music)..usually we use 802's as monitors..

For my solo work ..I replaced the 802's for most jobs, with the Roland BA330..because of the easy hookup...built in mixer w/effects and stereo in a single unit..For my larger solo jobs ..I still prefer and use my 25 year old Roland Cube 100's..

The 1204's and 1503's are being used without the need of our Yorkville sub woofer..the bass gets down low enough to leave the sub home..

Since your so high on the Ba330 (and have gotten me very interested) have you considered a pair of them to replace all that other stuff? Seems the simplier way to go. Just one or two depending on the gig.
And the prices are already dropping.. Around $500 now.
Sorry to hijack the thread

Fran, on your 1204's, did you get the Class A or Class D amp (and why?).

Thanks,

chas

Chas..class, I am convinced it is the better amp..

Bill, the only BA330's I have found for $500 are store demos..2 would be great if I didn't have other units for larger jobs..A single BA330 was just what I needed for certain venues..

Chas, the A/B amps although run hotter than the class D, and are less efficient, percentage wise ..are considered warmer and a more pleasing sound..This is stated by many experts..not just me..

The class D is a switching design and actually kick in protective circuitry to often...I found this to be the difference between the 1204's and our Yorkville's (Use class D)..
