Just wanted to post a question and gauge the response, and perhaps provide feedback for Nigel.

PLEASE - NO REASONS, JUST YES OR NO!!!!

Do you think the General Arranger Forum should be changed to the General Keyboard and Music Forum ? (or similar)

Dennis

There is no need to change the name. That wouldn't change anything. Arranger use is on shaky ground. I admire the people here, but look at reality. I am 56 and I have been here for several years. People are resistant to change, I understand that. But I am a young buck here. And that is a sobering thought regarding the future of this forum. (Arranger use is dieing! Just keep it as it is but don't axe OT threads. We need movement, lots of movement in this forum. Any forum needs that. Or forget OT, you guys... make some arranger posts!

My bad, was supposed to be yes/no.

No.

It's an age thing. Let me recommend a daily glass of prune juice and lots of fruits and ruffage. If that doesn't work, you can always read one of Tony's Audya posts. ....or, listen to the latest MS demo.

It's Nigel's board to name. But my vote would be no.

Thats up to Nigel..

Except for This forum all other Forums on the site seem empty

The boards look ancient and outdated, all other forums are almost empty, a merge of forums could be accompanied by a new name and a new look.

That would be a YES from me.

But then changing things wellknown to people could mean the end of this place too, people don't like changes, espescially to places they feel at home.

That would be a NO from me.

And as the best soccer player in the world has said : Every advantage has its disadvantage..

That would seem like a resounding "No" and I agree. This forum is busy simply because there isn't another general arranger keyboard forum online ... and that is most probably because no manufacturer has the interest or motivation to provide a forum for all brands.

The other forums here are now quiet because either the companies have long gone ie. Ensoniq, Waldorf etc. or because companies like Roland, Yamaha, Korg etc now provide online forums unlike 10 years ago. But I leave those forums up simply because they may contain info on older models and that is alway useful for people still using those keyboards.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" ...

Of course I'm really not one for change anyway ... same wife for almost 47 years, had the same day gig for 40 years (same company, not same responsibilities, fortunately ), playing the same technics kn6000 since it came out ... you get the idea ...

No, the name is just fine, even if it for a while was looking more like a dedicated Yamaha
forum rather than general arranger.

Keep the name, and melt the other SZ Arranger Forums into this one, not much life there
anyway, and as we all can see, world is changing, also regarding Arranger Keyboards.
Less brands and less new models, less forums, and the same "old gang" moaning...
But we are very lucky, aren't we? Lucky because it's Nigel who is the boss and he will do
as he like and what's best for the SZ, as he always does.

Cheers, and keep on the good work Nigel!
