Does anyone use 2 wireless mic systems for live play? Since only one mic can be hooked to each unit, 2 units would be necessary for 2 wireless users. Concern is about interference with one another.

You cannot run both wireless mics at the same time off one unit.

Jim,

You should have no problems at all. Just make sure that the two wireless systems are on different frequencies.

Also, never rely just on wireless mics. The airwaves are getting so cluttered that there very well could be times when the transmitter signal is not strong enough to override a more powerful transmitter in the area. Always have a wired mic, stand and cable in the car just in case.

Best Regards,

Dave

Dave, thanks. I'll try that out at the gig tonight. It seems that when I talked with Shure, they said I'd have to turn one off to use the other, but I'll see. Great to hear from John - great guy!

Tried it tonight. Cannot do (at least I can't). When I link up the wireless hand held, the headset goes out and vice versa....

Check you broadcast frequencies again. We run multiple wireless at church all the time, as do community theaters and pros all over the world. How are you connecting them to the Compact? If you are using a mixer, simply put each mic on a separate channel.

I just bought a Behringer Xenyx 1202FX mixer at GC for $89 - what a buy for 4 XLRs, 12 total input channels and 100 24-bit EFX. Sale is for $99, but I got the salesman to give me a 10% "coupon."

Rereading this, are you saying you are using only one receiver with two mics? Oh..., that won't work at all. You need separate units with different broadcast frequencies. But as Dave said, a hard-wired mic might serve just as well.

To be clear, it is not possible to use two wireless mics with just one receiver. You need to independent wireless systems, meaning two mics each with their own receiver on two different frequencies.

Dave

There are dual wireless systems available. AT has one that sells for about $2800 - wow! Samson has a dual handheld system - $300. http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=2024&brandID=1

Maybe you could swap out a handheld for a headset or whatever you need.
