I thought I would report back on the conversion from KN7000 to G70 with EMC XT Universal. It is going exceedingly well on 75% of them. The rest come up with some wrong instruments. This requires checking back on the original, but the Makeup Tools is so easy to use, I tweek all the files to V Drums etc.

Thanks again to James for the offer to convert some for me. Paying $200 for the upgrade from my useless Korg version, to me, was a good investment.

If you would like to email some of the conversions to me, I would be happy to get them, and take a crack at tweaking them to sound better (if possible! )...

One of the most critical parts in getting the drums to sound good on the V-Drum kits is adjusting the velocity and volume of each of the drums individually, so that the vel-crossover points bring the accent samples in at the right place (presuming the source style actually HAD any dynamics in it! )...

Have you done much of this yet?

Hi Diki
No, you are light years ahead of what I know to do. I simply audition for the best sounding one for me and adjust the volume. I suppose that the drums are such an improvement over what I had, that I was glad for that. I will try and pick some with prominent drum parts and send them.

Thank you
Bernie

Bernie,
I mailed you a zip file of styles that have been converted from KN5000 to Roland 6/70. I have more if you want.
Bill

Thank you, received this morning. I will check these out, but the ones I am converting are third party, that are in most cases better than factory.
