Does anyone know if it has a new piano voice or the one from the t3? Did they improve the sound system like they did for the 710? thanks Ron

Geosync. Thank you for the information. If you or anyone has detailed specs about what exact new voices and styles will be appearing, then that would be great.

Otherwise, we'll have to wait until Yamaha posts the manual online.

So it looks like the PSR-S910 will have the same amount of these voices as the T2:

Mega
Sweet
Cool
But will have only 25 versus 58 Live! voices.
And will have only 38 versus 42 S.A. voices

The S910 will have 5 new drum kits. We will find out if any of these are Live! Drum Kits.

The S910 will have 322 styles versus 400 for T2. Of course, these missing styles are available and will sound better on the S910 than they do on the S900.

This new keyboard will be pretty much as good as a T2. Advantage: onboard speakers, mp3 playback. Disadvantage: some missing live voices and no ability to load samples.

For those who want those SA2 voices but aren't willing to ante up more than $1600, we will have to wait another two years or so.

Hi everyone,

I've read all I could find on the 910. Seems to me that instead of being a baby version of the T3, it is more closely related to being a full version with a few extras to the T2.

I think I have a little longer to wait before upgrading from my PSR-3000 - She served me well up to now.(That's unless I can somehow find a low priced 2nd hand T3)

Here are just the differences in voices between the S900 and the 3000:
Mega 18 - 10
Super Art 38 - 0
Sweet! 23 - 14
Cool! 39 - 18
Live! 25 - 19

I thought the S900 already blew away the 3000. With this new keyboard you would be getting tons of styles that simply won't sound the same on the PSR3000. I don't know what your needs are or your budget, but you should at least try the S910 out before you conclude that it's pretty much the same as what you got. Or maybe you tried out a T2 and made that conclusion already.

Two things I, personally, would miss from the 3000 would be the the ability to sit down and clearly see the display, and loosing the Smart Media Card storage. Yeah, I know it has a USB drive, but you need to remove that when transporting. The Smart Media Card is almost like having a 128-meg hard drive in the keyboard.

Gary I agree with you about the card storage. I'm not sure I'd want the limits of the older smart media cards.., but I think they should be making these things to take SD cards rather than use USB thumb drives.

Being able to leave that card in the drive was very nice and was like having a little hard-drive in the keyboard. My old Casio WK-3500 used smart media cards (along with the floppy). I loved that little SM Card as load time was quick and the card was always in the unit

Why aren't they using SD cards more on these arrangers? Don't some of the Casio's use SD cards now? I would much rather have an SD card than the thumb drive option.

I still think a good thing to note is the improvements in the S-710. The new "better contrast screen" and the poly bumped up to 128 notes, AND it now having USB audio recording are VERY good upgrade features. I was very surprised to see these jumps in a model coming in under the S-910. Both models now having better screens, sharing USB audio recording, and the same poly count is a good move by Yamaha.

I never missed the screen on the PSR3000. I have no trouble reading the screen on my PSR-S900 while sitting. Evidently, the PSR-S910 comes with a better color screen.

The Smart Media storage was very nice. For me, however, having two identical keyboards, it is better to store my stuff on a USB pen drive that I keep secured to my keychain and which only gets removed at my gigs. Any changes I make with styles, registrations, text files, etc. - stay with me on my USB, so the experience I have with my keyboard at home is identical to the experience I have with my keyboard at the gig.

The PSR3000 doesn't load text files, and I love this feature! I use the text files not only for chords and lyrics, but for some of the one liners I use! When I had the PSR3000, I used to carry sheet music with me. Now I keep everything I absolutely need on text files on my thumb drive.

Now if the Smart Media card held styles like user memory that would come up on the Music Finder Database, then that would have been cool.

Anyway, to each their own.
