Jim-Nice to hear some of your work...That kb sounds pretty awesome...

I too found a disconnect with the style for Satin Doll. At times I found the style too conflicting with the essence of the actual tune, so much to the point that it hindered the natural swing feel. During the B section, at times it seemed like the beat got inverted for a half a bar or something.

I'd like to hear you redo the tune with a more straight-forward style...

Still, great to hear some of your stuff-keep it coming!

Adding to what Bill had to say, and as a Korgie myself (Pa1XPro), sometimes less is more. And, in my book, that goes for all brands of arrangers. Obviously, it's not a golden rule, but it's worth bearing in mind. The 800 sure is a nice board.

The style is what I would say is what is a negative for Korg styles - too genre specific . In this cas I felt it took away from the song; the scooping was just too much for me. Having only owned an iX300, this is one of the reasons why I moved on. The styles I needed were few and the others were somewhat overwhelming - as this was.

The trumpet sounded much more realistic at the end than when you first brought it in. I like the spit and pop of the tha trumpet.

Good job, Zuki
