For small NH gigs I was considering my CM-30's, but wondered if one Podium would be any better. My Roland are good, but with all the hoopla, I am curious.

Go4it, Bernie. I have a pair of CM-30s and would also like to know how they "stack" up against these Podiums.

Bernie and Cass...there is no comparison..The 802's are much, much, more powerful...and coverage wise the 802's are a no brain-er....

PS, the 802's even sound better....and yes I am a Roland fan..

CM 30's serve me well for monitors and mains for small jobs. I have the non-powered 8" Podiums and they sound better attached to a 100 watt power amp.

One CM-30 does the trick for lots of my 50 and under luncheons.

I'm getting the powered Podium 10's when they come in.

Right now, the CM30s stay, so I would like to read a comparison or a least a comparative opinion. The last time I used the 30s for an audience I also used my EV 120b sub with them. I think the sub made a big difference.

In my case, it would be used for under 50 seniors, but they like anything with a beat. I have the staff and a few of the seniors cutting a pretty mean rug. The Bose is an over kill in a 20X 25 room, but I do need some decent low end. Maybe one Podium might do it. If I need a sub, I might as well use the Bose. For a small luncheon, I can see the CM-30 as adequate.

Thanks for weighing in.
