Given my 'elementary' knowledge of computers, does anyone know of a good, simple to use, program to produce some promo literature? A sort of dumbed down Photoshop is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

What does "literature" mean?

Cd covers, leaflets, some kind of banner what exactly?

Be a little more specific.

Hi. Yes promo materials would be another way of putting it. What I'm trying to do is to put together a poster with our photo, a logo, and a few words about ourselves.

If you want to create promo materials, then Photoshop would not be a good choice, as it's purpose is bitmap image manipulation. Much better choice would be Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator or something like that(vector based graphics). Free (and quite good) alternatives for Photoshop is Gimp (www.gimp.org), and for Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator that is Incscape (www.inkscape.org/) or Creative Docs.NET (www.creativedocs.net). If you want to create multi-page documents then also take a look on Scribus (www.scribus.net).

Thanks kalimero, I'll give some of those a shot. Free is a good price, too.
