has anyone had any luck with using the 9 pin computer lead from a PC to control the
1010? ive got the switch set at the back to the right position, but the 1010 only wants
to recieve data down it. when it tries to transmit something the PC doesnt know about
it, using bothcubase and sounddiver. i had it working for about a minute or so but it
stopped, so im wondering if its just a faulty cable.

My 1010 runs ok with the serial connection in SoundDiver. I think the serial cable was supplied with the 1010 when I bought it.
However, it is somewhat temperamental in that
sometimes a note plays when I request a performance and sometimes it doesn't!
I can't think of any possible solutions at the moment, a faulty cable does sound a distinct possibilty.
cheers

Yes, sav, the same happens to me, but with a self-made cable. Sounddiver just shows me a MIDI Out, but no MIDI In towards the PC. I think this is just the driver Roland shipped within the CD !

Mr T, perhaps you do have interferences which mess your computer signals.
