Is anyone out there swlling CD's at your gigs or usings companys like CDbaby? Is anyone making any money doing this.

Yes and no. I have a CD on CDBaby and I record live shows and sell them at my shows. I don't really make any money at this, it's more in response to people wanting one. At CDBaby I do much better on digital downloads than actual CD's sold.

I sold quite a few when I was with Legends. Souvenirs mostly bought by people caught up in the moment. TuneCore seems to be a great place to sell CDS. They place singles and whole CDS at Amazon, Itunes,,,,etc You get 70% cost is negligible for the service. Promotion is up to the poster. I just placed a single which won;t hit until March 15. Takes awhile to process the track and send it to the download services. http://www.tunecore.com/

So now if someone asks for a single tune I will send them to Amazon. Curious people will spend a $1 to download one's song if they like the sample.

Facebook and MySpace pages are great places to announce releases.
