I've kind of inherited a couple Crown PZM 6LP boundary mics with PX-18 battery/phantom boxes. They give either a low signal or none at all. Does anyone know anything about these mics? Would they be worth repairing (if I knew what was wrong)? Would Crown be the best place to attempt a repair? What about their service and costs? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

t - If I read your smiley correctly, you got me! Nothing worse than someone not following their own advice, heh?

Donny - I took your advice and emailed the Tech Support team. We'll see what happens.

These are very nice mics and I hate to have to throw them out.

Got a reply today. $70 per hr. plus parts and shipping. I'll have to check with the rectory and see if they want to invest in the repair.

I'm not gonna worry about it for now - Florida calls

Cass,

For $70 you can purchase a brand new Samson Q7, which is, in the opinion of many, an outstanding mic for vocalist.

Good Luck,

Gary

cass ... you read it right ... just a 'needle' my friend ... couldn't pass up the opportunity, especially when the timing was SO close ..
Hope you make out OK with the mic ...
