Hey everyone, newbie here.

I'm interested in buying some analog synths similar to the ones used in some of my favorite DIY postpunk minimal synth weirdness from 1979-1981. Problem is, I know what sounds I like but I don't know what any of the synths used are called.

Is there a synth site or resource that has synth listings with samples so you can see what you're getting yourself into? Somewhere where I could search around until I found synth with the sound I'm going for?

Thanks!

Just look up different synths at http://www.vintagesynth.com as they have included the bands that used them at the bottom.

For 1979-81, Look up: Jupiter 4, Promars, minikorg, Prophet 5, OB-X, moog source, Pro-One, Juno-6, CS-15. Those were very popular.

And play everything through a Roland JC120 for that vintage british sound. heh.
