I have a VA7 now as you know. I see on my computer that the factory zip has the data files on it, but when in the keyboard, there's nothing.

The zip is able to copy from a floppy, so I think it is working OK.

Any suggestions? Thanks, zuki

Zuki, format a zip disk in the VA7 zip drive..than copy the data from your PC (factory data) exactly replacing the newly formatted folders when asked...I am taking for granted you have a zip drive on your PC..

If you still have a problem..you may need to download and use Roland Data Base Manager software..

Nah, doesn't work. I tried formatting a new zip and it just went through the cyles until I finally had to turn off the board. Now the zip is bad. I am able to format in quick mode, but that's about it.

In fact, nothing works on the zip drive. I thought I'd copied a style from a floppy, but was wrong.

Is the zip making a clicking noise?

Well! For some odd reason, the zip decided to cooperate today and to my surprise, loaded in and is playing fabulously. It may be a short in the system, but for now, all is fine.

Now I have the excitement of going through the 550 factory zip styles again! Oh how wonderful these styles are. Blowing my mind - I love the VA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Side note: Dayton Bill called me and offered up his Tyros, thinking I had some board problems - THANKS BILL - great guy.
