Steve Deming.....
Thank you for sending one to my store yesterday. I think many players will find it very helpful. Especially the section on the AI (artificial intelligence) fingering mode. In all my years here at my store, I never understood it like it was explained on the DVD. Very helpful!

Received mine today and have already watched it twice. Why don't the manufacturers consider more DVDs that demonstrate detailed features of their keyboards? Maybe video manuals to accompany the keyboard, or extras for purchase.

Answer:

Because they would be less likely to sell you the same repackaged keyboard ' New improved'18 months down the road ! Thats not just the synic in me. Thats actually not far from the truth at all....

I've been asking for this for years......why? because if you learn your unit too well your possibly going to keep it a long time you wont buy another thinking its better then the one you already have

Hey keyofg, just curious about your screen name. It just reminded me of an old organ player I used to know around Atlantic City known only as "F# Lewis". All I remember is that he was a great organ player who knew and could play every tune, but (you guessed it) only in the key of F#. Was just wondering if there were any history behind your moniker? Curious minds want to know .

Got one in the mail today too (funny I don't remember ordering one though) Very well done Yamaha.. I was impressed with this one. It's a good tutorial for style play. I played mine using my DVD player on the computer, but noticed a constant clicking in the audio. Anyone else get that?

Pretty cool.

Dear Curious Chas

Back in January of 1999 I started what was probably the first e-magazine on the web, featuring keyboard players, It was called the Key of "G" for no reason other than my name is George. The website was dedicated to Technics keyboards and featured guest artists, a tutorial, jukebox, a little California history, a recipe page... yeah, some keyboard players actually cook, a page featuring Organ players ,links, guest book, etc. The Key of "G" last published in May of 2001. Many original readers and contributors to the Key of "G" are still here on the Synth.

Take care Chas. Remember... curiosity killed the cat. Yeah, I know... but satisfaction brought it back.

Thanks. I often think, no telling how far ol' F# Lewis might have gone if they'd had a transpose button back then .

Shame he couldn't afford to get one of those Steinway's that they built for Irving Berlin (who only played in Ab, I think!) that the entire action could be moved sideways to position it under different keys...

I saw it at the Steinway showroom in Manhattan when I used to live there. Fascinating place.

I did make sure a couple people got one even though they didn't ask for them. We think this DVD is crucial. We want to get it into the hands of all our valued customers. It will be shipping with new products in the near future. If anybody else (in the USA) wants one, click the link above for instructions.

Thanks Steve for the DVD. The canned presentation and slight nervousness of the musicians added a special touch - talented performers - nice.
