Check out these links to the Martin Harris Demo at Naam. If you ever wanted to own or now do own a Tyros 3 you have to see this. By the way Scott Yee sent these to me.

Martin swears this is right out of the box sounds - EQ flat and Comp turned off, mixer also flat for the in house sound system.

Hammer,
Thanks for the links.

1) No doubt Yamaha (Martin, seems to been heavily involved)has done a great job with this instrument

2) Martin know it well and demo's it well

3) Martin is a very good musician in his own right

4) I bet a lot of folks in the audience..went home and bought one!

Good demos are supposed to make pople search their pockets for money.

I know I did while watching this.

On the other hand I only now understand what people are talking about when they say "sounds compressed" "lifeless drums" and so on.

Sure it sounds compressed! It's freaking U-tube! I never hear anything all that good there, maybe it's my settings? And in this case the recording was not PRO quality...I think it might have been from the video camera. I hear lots of distortion too.

I will make my mind up on the sound quality when I hear one hooked to a quality sound system (like nearfield Mackie monitors)

I know when I auditioned the Kurzweil PC3 at Sweetwater Sound, they had a poor speaker (not even stereo) hooked up, then I tried headphones...not much better.
I brought it home, hooked up my Mackies and POW! Outstanding sound. Knocked my socks off.

Guys,
The Utube recordings were done by someone in attendance at the convention with a video camera. Also, I guarantee you that my Tyros 3 played through my Bose system is without a doubt one of the finest sounding arrangers I have ever heard - including the Audya I heard at the Shreveport Jam.

there's no doubt that the T3 is one of the best sounding arrangers currently available. Martin Harris is an excellent demonstrator. If the T3 had the same flexibility as my current arranger , there is no question that i would move heaven and earth to own one. If i wanted simply to switch on and play then yamaha is the go to arranger. Thanks for whoever recorded this demo.

Hammer nice to meet you at the Jam.....
your T3 sounded exceptional & I love your rolling setup makes gigging real easy to get in and out. I agree the T3 is very hard to beat in so many ways....it's a wonderful KB arranger with an awesome sound. Hope to see you next January at the Shreveport Jam!

Take care

Aramis,
I have the Bose L1 Mod 1 system. It has been one of the very best investments I have ever made.

Hi Donny,
Yes, it was a ball meeting you and Joe. Hey guys, if you don't already know Donny and Joe can play up a storm. No wonder they stay booked all the time.

Donny, I really should have stayed but my mind was really back at the hospital with my daughter. I was not focused or having much fun - no fault of Don or anything related to the Jam. I promised Don I would bring my T3 for everyone to see and I felt obligated to keep my word. When your kids are hurting it really takes a lot out of you. It was a pleasure meeting you and I truly look forward to seeing you and Joe again sometime.

By the way, the triplets are doing ok. As long as the one in trouble maintains it's current status the doctors will be able to delay delivery. We are hoping to get to week 32 weeks before they have to deliver them. Meanwhile, she will be in the hospital until delivery. Anyone out there with
multiples knows the deal.

Later,
Hammer

Hello Hammer and DNJ, It was good to meet both of you at the Jam.

Hammer, glad to hear the family situation is better. Thanks for the demo post.

I too wish I could have stayed longer, but had to be in Tyler at 8:00 Monday morning. (job related), so couldn't party.

As I said in another post, the T3 just blew me away. I currently have a PA2X but if I could have two boards one would be a T3.

DNJ, I'm looking forward to next January as well. The Jam was really great. This time I'll make better plans, so I can stay the entire time and Jam!
