I just came back from a Roland workshop, and I have to tell ya, my alesis is looking really sad! The roland sounds are amazing and the XP-30 is stacked!!!I think I might sell my QS7. I haven't played the XP, I just heard it and read the specs. Can anyone out there compare the two boards. I like the 76 keys on my Alesis, but I'd be willing to sacrifice the octave for the features and sounds of the XP. Anyone have any comparisons? Thanks

This is my personal opinion, but there's no contest. the XP-30 is way too loaded and way too good sounding to have a QS. And this is coming from a former QS owner. The sounds alone are enough to make the XP a winner.

I ditto dnorth's opinion. Roland XP/JV sounds are much better than Alesis'. Besides, Roland products usually have a much better quality and durability than the Alesis products, at least with my experience. XP30 is really the best buy in its price range if you do not care about number of keys and the weird limitation of the Y-axis movements of its pitch bend/modulation joystick. It has become my favorite synth for solo voices.
