Legato function comes close to SA voices ?

If so, then this is the first time wersi has this natively....(Not Vsti)

Sounds like velocity switching, not legato PLAYING that makes this sound. AFAIK, the regular Wersi engine cannot distinguish legato play from detached.

But legato/marcato vel-switched sample sets have been around for EVER. The problem comes when you want to switch between them AT THE SAME VELOCITY!

Note how every phrase starts fairly loud. That's the player whacking the note a bit harder to bring in the 'bite'. Then the lower velocity sounds are legato samples. It's how everybody did it until GIGA etc., and then SA.

Hi Diki
There has been 20 or so new sounds added with the R35 update, with one of them being a legato sax, and if you play detached notes you get the initial attack etc on every note, however if you play legato then only the first note gets the initial attack.

The OAS 7 sound engine uses the creamware pulsar 2 card, which has had this capability for many years, but apart from plug-ins no one bothered to programme it.
In addition OAS 7 also adds the Hypersonic sound engine to its arsenal thus giving even more possibilities.
Its main problem however, is that the main user base is in Europe and so it is European voiced. (However this may change in the future)
In the meantime you can use sound control to alter the sounds to suit, either as a new voice or in a preset.
