Well it looks like the MS is now to be available after October 30 (instead of 16).

Which is a real pain as I was planning to get into programming and setting it up for a new season starting in Mid November...

And then you add on top the huge difference now between the Aussie $ and the Euro (nearly $2 Aussie for 1 euro) it is causing this keyboard to drift further and further away.

Anyway we will see what happens....

Just had word from Dom, and it seems it was a parts supply issue. He was held up by other firms who hadn't completed his order for mixer boards, so not his fault at all.

Just one of those things.

Hopefully he might be able to ship by the end of October.

Ah...another interesting news...
the new giga Linuxsampler, is now available to play multiple different soundbank, instead to use the only GM/GS.
the new java frontend is able to editing the new map and include how many soundbank that you like: http://linuxsampler.org/screenshots/fantasia.png

It mean that now we are also able to organize a totally new T2/3 giga sound bank and recall it in realtime like a multiple sound generator XG.

IF we can prepare one nice tyros soundbank, with the Qranger we can load the NOT converted yahama styles and the qranger will play it direct to the new Tyros giga soundbank.

My sound developer is starting to clone also the SA voice under giga format... FREE download of course....nothing to pay!!

IF someone there will help to clone new sounds, is available the Linuxsampler windows version for Free download: http://linuxsampler.org/downloads.html

Slow slow continue to be always more interesting...

cheers

Thats a great picture... espescially the wooden parts...

But i am impressed with the number of PCB's and the memmory size, Quad core and 8GB, lst time i checked it was way less...

yes, I had just upgrade my MS CPU and RAM for some promising testing..
here the result:

Is a really HAVY engine...
about 5 hours for installing 6 DVD, 51Gb data installed.
need some time for startup, the .dll is about 80Mb and then have to loading in ram the sounds...no streaming..
some simple single sounds are also 500-800Mb data...but when is UP, with the multi asio system I can switch in realtime.

I will try to optimize some in wine, maybe to try to allocate more memory, i have to test.

Anyway, I can say...GEIL!! .

Well, if there was one in my local dealer, I already would have...

OTOH, you might not like it if I did... I don't pull punches about the arranger I like BEST, yet alone anything else.

If the MS doesn't cut it OOTB, it's going to hurt if I post that after I have actually PLAYED one, rather than simply listening to all the demos. THAT at least gives some of the more deluded owners at least a BIT of wiggle room (although not one of them can muster up a decent demo themselves in style mode), but if I play it and it sucks, where can you go from there?

Look, I'd LOVE to play one. I honestly think I'm one of the few that MIGHT actually get something decent from it, simply because I already do do a lot of VSTi production work. But, for an arranger, it's not the right paradigm... Live use rarely needs that level of sophistication, but DOES need exceptional styles and a bog stupid easy to use OS, and great built in sounds with expansion possibilities AS WELL...

I'm already happy in the studio using computers to achieve the same ends, but live, my needs change drastically, and practicality and versatility are the main things I need.

Get Dom to send me one to try out for free... I GUARANTEE I will post more music done on it than the rest of your US customers put together! (not exactly much of a challenge, mind you ). But whether it is good or not is going to depend on what the thing sounds like when I get it... Not after I have spent months and months, and thousands of dollars in VSTi's to get it usable as what I already have in the studio..

Or as usable as my G70 is OOTB....
