If so, I'm looking for a backup for my PA800

Love it more each day, can't wait to see what's in OS 2.0. Hope they fix the fill-ins and give us more styles, or a better way to encourage 3rd party styles.

Sorry, Zuki, can't help you.

Should be quite a few PA-800s available once the Tyros3 is introduced.

E-bay would be your best bet at that time, although you could also try the "Buy and Sell" section of the Korg forum, located here: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/

Good luck.

Doing well, my friend...keeping busy with my PSR-S900 and getting some demo material put together for my autumn tour which starts next month.

Glad you're liking the PA-800..it's nice to see a contented user, regardless of the brand or model.

Seriously, there should be PA-800s(and T1s and T2s and G70s) available in the near future, as not everyone is as content as you are and want to stay with their present arranger...especially with the awesome T3 (and perhaps a new TOTL Roland) soon to be introduced.

You should be able to get a good used PA-800 (or even a PA2XPro) on the cheap...backups are a great idea.

I think many users, like myself, do not consider the Tyros series as a competitor for the PA800 because of the lack of monitor speakers. I know that is my number one concern when shopping, and the biggest reason that I no longer play Yamaha products on stage. When the T-3 arrives, there will undoubtedly be T-2s available cheap, but a PA800 is a horse of a different color. If you are a sticker for on board monitoring, as I am ... the T-3 is not even a contender.

As a side note - I'm sure it will sound and operate really well, as most Yamaha products do, but the low end doesn't feel good enough, and the high end took away the speakers, so that puts Yamaha on a way back burner for me. No silent slabs in my rig!

Don't blame you, Dave...I like having onboard speakers too...that's why I got the S900.

My next arranger will, in all probability, be the S-900's successor.

Pity the PA-800 was not for sale in my area...Yamaha arrangers rule here in Atlantic Canada...I would have loved to have tried a Korg out and see what all the fuss is about.

According to the web demos I've heard, it certainly wouldn't have been enough to make me to jump ship, but it still would have been nice to check out the competition "hands on".

I just wish I could get payed enough to play gigs SO small that the onboard speakers were any factor in the sound the audience hears...

To be honest, no internal speakers provide me with the depth and clarity of a decent set of nearfield monitors, yet alone a real PA, and I'm sitting in front of the damn thing! How is my audience supposed to get up and move on a sound system that barely tops 30 watts, and is run through three inch speakers (and only two of them!).

Jeez, my boom box gets louder and cleaner than any internal speakers I've ever heard!

Hi Zuki:

Email me, I just got the PA500, and also have the PA800, besides the T2, S900, SD5.
I have to clear some area in my apartment, so, I am going to let go the PA800, I do not sing, so, I have no need for the TC Helicon harmonizer, and as far goes sounds, I can live with the PA500s.

Same here. No way I'd play them at a function. But they are convenient in a pinch.

BTW, just got my new Mackie 8 monitors - they are HUGE....the studio is forthcoming

I never say "Never" , when it comes to arranger KB's but I am really content and happy with the PA2Xpro!!! There is nothing else that I have owned that is better and I have had all that is presently on the market right now. The on board speakers would never affect my decision for purchasing an arranger KB. I love the 76 keys and better keybed. I have recently purchased a Yorkville K1 KB amp. As a 30lb. personal wedge monitor it is awesome!!! I know some folks want to carry as little as possible, and I understand that. To each his own as they say.
