Take a look at the Samson stuff. I love my Rubicons and they come in at a great price. They even have monitors with built in Ipod docks

Donny,
I have been using M-audio BX5a speakers for he past 2 years with my PSR3000 and they do a really good job. Cost was about $300.00 at GC. If you need more sound they have the BX8a speakers but they run about $500.00. Go give them a try - you might be very pleased.

HI:

I have the M Audio BX8s (more than $400.00) they perform very nice....and ALSO have the Behringers Truth 2031As.... the Pair for only $339.00 and they have nothing to be shame, Simply put best bang for the money and 2 way 8 inch woofer and tweeter. Great!.

I can't find the freq response on the Rubicons. I'm more interested in 8 inch drivers, because I need the low end, but I am not seeing the specs anywhere on the freq response and +- curve.

They say that the Behringer B2030A is 75% of the quality of a professional monitor at 20% of the price.

Behringer gear I'm not fond of at all....

If your gonna mix heavy bass laden Hip Hop music etc the 8" are better but for my needs the 6" will be more then enough.

I have sold more Behringer Truth B2031A powered monitors than all the other brands I carry. The reason is..........
8" woofer, 210Watts per side of power, bi-amp technology and the price is $339 for the pair!
Of the hundreds of pairs I've sold over the past 4 years, I've maybe seen 2 come back with a problem and Behringer replaces anything sold for the first year.
I've sold these to high end studio musicians and local performers who use them at home or on gigs.

George,

I agree for the money they are awesome, but I did find they have a port noise huff on certain bass frequencies, and the tweeter can get bitey on certain freq for my ear, but overall one of the better bangs for the buck

The Behringer's only go down to 50 HZ? for an 8-inch speaker, that's not very impressive imo. A bass guitar goes lower than that. Of course in reality they might sound better than the specs would indicate. But the new Tascam VL-a8 monitors go down to 30 HZ. That's a huge difference. Even their 5 inch monitors go down to 38 HZ, which is still a hekc of a lot lower than 50. Again, specs aren't everything, but I'm just a little surprised that Behringer's 8's only go down to 50. FM radio goes down to 40 for heaven's sake.
