...just got back from "an extended holiday in Norfolk"..extended several days in order to whisk my dear wife into Coronary Care...heart attack on way home..on motorway..escorted to Hospital by 1 Paramedic Car, 1 Ambulance,
2 Police cars(yes, 2!, we don't do things by half here
Thankfully, we are both now back home at least and waiting for more Hospital visits arranged and more endoscopies.
What a wonderful National Health Service we have here in UK. I thank our lucky stars for their immediate response to my 999 call.

Sorry, just had to tell you all. when youre in your seventh decade you have to tell everybody about your fantastic survival.

Thanks for listening.
cheers

God bless ye and your wife. How fortunate that emergency help was there. I certainly hope and pray that your wife recovers with little or no permanent damage. I had had a coronary in 2001 and am still going strong, with doctor's care.

Hi Eddie,

First we are all glad to hear your wife is ok - and we wish both you and her well.

My wife and I are your age and we travel a lot - the thing we fear most is having a serious illness while on a trip.
Hope all goes well for the two of you - and please keep us informed.

Eddie,
I know how scary that is cause my wife had a heart attack just as we returned home from a 2 seek cruise to Alaska and back.
Isn't it odd how those attacks happen after a period of resting and vacation.
I am happy to hear you and your wife both are recovering.
Best to you and yours,
Bebop

Eddie,
Every experience leaves us with something, I hope that you and your wife feel gratitude before all. Your experience brought you to a point where you realized how helpless you are, in that humility came first followed by a feeling of being so very thankful that your wife is still at your side.

I pray for a complete recovery for your wife and a deeper understanding of life for you.

Thanks for sharing your story, it is appreciated. It is a survival love story.

Eddie...
Thanks for sharing. Scary story with a happy ending. Having been through something similar myself, I know of the appreciation you feel for your medical attendants.

Eddie,

Glad to hear your wife and you are OK. That had to be a traumatic experience. Nothing like having the kind of emergency support you had to support you.

My wife has had some medical problems in the past and the fast acting paramedics here in the US when you place a call to 911 are terrific.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, best of luck.

Great to hear that you're happy with England's National Health Care System, because here in America, there's no form of government sponsored healthcare, and with insurance premimiums out of control, and employers not mandated to provide employees health insurance, many working families are no longer able to afford to get health insurance, so it's become urgent that some form of government sponsored health care system is needed in America too, so its encouraging to hear that you're happy with England's National Health Care System.

Steve, Unfortunately, I too have had to use our 911 system in the past (too many times, I might add ), and the response and care has been tremendous ...
Thank God for EMTs !!! ...
