I'm just curious, here, but I'd be interested in finding out what kind of mp3's most people use, so a couple of simple questions, if you don't mind:

Do you make your own MP3's, or do you get third party ones?

If you make your own, are they primarily just recordings of sequences you have on equipment you have, or do you add real instruments, use other keyboards you don't take to the gig, and/or vocals to them?

What's YOUR method, mainly?

I make my own MP3s.

I do this for my very successful duo, The Sophisticats, http://www.s-cats.com. You can hear a demo medley culled from our live performances on The Sophisticats site.

I plan on eventually selling mp3 backing tracks, right now I'm working on getting the licensing to do so.

The few MP3's we do use are usually hard to find white label remixes of "big hits" that are next to impossible to find as SMF's, and very time consuming to make from scratch as same.

As I mentioned in the other MP3 thread, we do this to get a point of difference sound quality wise, and yet not sound the same as everyone else (i.e. using the Radio Edit).
