Unfortunately, interpreting the press release, it looks like September is the Feature Announcement date and NOT the release date. Lord knows when the ship date is.

There has been some speculation Korg was going to un-bundle the Style sets in the keyboard. For those who don't know Korg, they bundle many different styles into one container called a .SET file. This is problematic since you can't just work with the single style, you have to open the .SET, then find the style you want, then tweak it, save it back to the .SET file and so on and so forth.

Also, there is speculation the Songbook will be reworked. Other speculation is they will rework the way style files point to external sound samples and then get linked into the Songbook. If you upgrade the OS or the MusicResources file, it invalidates your songbook and the pointers to the custom styles/sounds.

Other speculation is they were adding Voice correction to the TC-Helicon Harmonizer? I personally thought that was a hardware feature, but maybe they can do it with software?

Anyone else have an speculations, rumors, or facts about the 2.0 release?

Lionstracs,

Why would I need this User interface during a live performance ?

Get me from Point A to Point B the fastest way possible.

I think they may also try better midi implementation of the guitar mode, there was a lot of buzz around this issue.

A uring live performance you will always see the same MS GUI interface, nothing is changed.
B: when then you switch to the 12 virtual Linux dekstop of the 3 VGA outputs available, you are able to running the all OpenGl desktop effects.
This will be used for the external monitor and TV HDMI monitor, for the full editors and what you like to shown.

Nah, it was always a software option for the TC Helicon in the PA1 series. It has beed dropped altogether from the PA 2 series, and it really had a low take-up rate anyway(it cost about $395AUD at the time) so I guess Korg did away with it for that reason.

Haven't seen or heard anything from any Korg people (users) to indicate it is ever making a return.

The Korg guy who frequents the Korg forums has said it is going to be a major upgrade (plus a lot of fixes from posts at the forum) and when Korg say major, it is usually pretty big.

Korg have been doing this sort of thing for a little while now.

Certainly my PA1X has undergone 3 OS updates that fixed bugs and added new features.

I assume this is surely the case with all manufacturers - to a degree....

unfortunately not Hellboy. Most manufaturers will provide bug fixes for free but little else. Korg seem to have been going the extra mile for some time. I think its an excellent philosophy and engenders loyalty to their product. I think that this was a really smart move by Korg and the timing will surely threaten to steal sales from its competition
