Some say avoid Vista altogether. Others say it is not that much of a problem.

Are there specific music programs that you know for sure WILL NOT work properly with Vista?

A few very common ones that I am wondering about:
WinAmp?
VanBasco?
Serenade?
PowerTracks & other sequencing software?
Recording Software
MP3 Players (Creative, IPod, Zune, etc.)
WavePad?
Limewire?
CD Rip & Burn software (Nero comes to mind)

Hi

I think you have to me more specific than:
"Recording Software - Yes"

Which Recording Software?
I think it depends on which product (name and version)

Regards
Jørgen

Vista works very well for me, I've been running Vista Business on
2 PC's for almost 2 years without any problems.
But I run the 32 bit verison, not 64, and both upgrade from XP and
clean install from scratch seems to run just as good, no probs.

If nessesary, it's also a option to run sofware in "XP mode", but
so far it's not been nessesary for me.

Good Luck and happy playing

I use Sonar 7 producer in the studio, together with a few vst's, and software instruments on a dual core 2g processor with 2 gig ram, and Vista glitched out often.

I will be using XP for some time yet.

Hi Al,
Yeah I think it might have been... I have two ghost partitions I can load, plus a dual boot system. One is for XP the other is Vista, and I did it quite some time ago, so if there is an update maybe I could re-visit uisng Vista again, would certainly make it a little less cumbersome!!..Thanks for the heads-up

Cheers
Dennis
