Within the last few days I've discovered that every B and F natural on my T1 is no longer touch sensitive and sounds full volume even with the lighted touch used...

I'm guessing the keypad is wearing out...

Fortunately its my back up KB to my T2, but still, its an issue to be addressed...

Any comments on what it might be, the repairs involved, possible costs, etc. would be appreciated greatly...

Thanks-

Bill..you guessed right..

Second thought..you say every B and F..that most likely is another issue..If it was an analog instrument..we would be looking at oscillators..

No techy here Bill, but:

Contacts on those instruments wear out fast. I don't think they're made to hold up to the amount of music we play.

My 900 starting missing fills after 3 months. My 3000 had to be fixed because of the same problem.

I'm hoping for continued success with Korg.

Thanks guys-

Does is make sense Don, Zuki, that all the F's and B's would only be effected at this time?

That could be another problem also....bring it in for service asap.

My guess is that one or more of the cables in the Ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the main board have gone down. (The ribbon has a common, a cable for each note and a cable for each octave (There may be more cables depending on whether the keyboard or main board processes the dynamics and after touch)
Hope this helps

Bill

First and foremost, it's not likely the keypads. If it were the keypads, it would only be a single key or two within an often used octave. This is not the case.

Best guess is that one of the connectors has either become loose, or one of the boards has gone south.

First, try a Master Reset; Function/Utilities/System Reset, and place a check mark in all boxes. If you have lots of custom settings, save them to either the HD or a floppy disk before doing the reset.

If the reset does not work, the next step is to open the keyboard and check the ribbon connectors going to the keypad boards. If this doesn't solve the problem, then it's likely that one of the boards has gone south, which is a factory authorized service center repair job.

Good Luck Bill,

Gary
