I've noticed fluttering and distortion when the pitch is changed. I wonder if that can be corrected ?

MP3 gain will tell you if there is clipping present and let you remove it. It solved 98% of my distortion problems.
Select the option don't clip when doing track gain.

Ya sometimes it's just a bad recording that needs to be replaced.

Jerry, Don already covered it. It's real easy to download files from the computer to the MidJay.

Last night I had the SD5, Midjay and PC all hooked together. I could take a pattern from the Midjay, which appears as an external drive to the PC, and load it onto the hard drive of the SD5 without ever saving it to the PC.
I was able to control the MJ from the SD5, though I can't see a benefit for that unless you want to incorporate loops or WAVs with the SD5 style.
Just experimenting.

DonM,
Please give me your opinion as to if I would be better with a Midjay instead of a Sd3 module? I have keyboards already. In another post you suggested the Midjay as a add on to my setup.

Please tell me this based on wanting to add it to my Tyros 2 or PA2XPRO.

Thanks,
Lee

Don and Joe,
It looks like I may have run into the proprietary i-tunes format problems. The Midjay won’t read the files. When I attempt to convert the files to mp3’s, it actually converts to the mp4 format that the Midjay won’t read. My Denon disc player reads all formats automatically
Ciao,
Jerry

iTunes can read MP3 and AAC formats. But if you bought the tunes from the iTunes store, they will be PROTECTED AAC (which you can't convert to MP3 with iTunes).

Look inside the iTunes Music folder for the actual files, and see what kind of file they are...

If they are not protected, Quicktime will convert them to MP3 for you, at least.

Thanks Diki. Almost everything I have is from i-tunes and protected. I'm sure by now, someone has come up with a conversion program to make the i-tunes files convert to a general standard for use with the Midjay et al - I just haven't found it yet.
Ciao,
Jerry

I was just checking my mp3's on my laptop with a pair of headphones. I previously stated that some of them were distorted, well it seems that none of them are distorted, at least the ones I checked.
On a gig I connect my laptop the my PSR3000 which goes into my amp which goes into my speakers. That's when they sound distorted.
I tried adjusting the volume on the laptop and my 3000 and they're still coming out distorted.
Would anyone know why this is happening?
