Although I am not a big MP3 user, there could be times it could be useful. I can get a recertified one for $149.I would run it through the G-70 or direct into my Bose. I would appreciate any feedback.

It will work fine Bernie....any MP3 plyer will do the job...I used to use my Ipod, Creative Touch & Zune all the time with the G70.....but always prefer my laptop for that use. You should have no prob.

Thanks Donny. I am trying to wean myself of the laptop. My G-70 is great for SMF and that was all I was using my laptop for.

BTW, do you have to have a driver installed ?, because The driver that came with the G-70 crashed my laptop, and I had to go to last good configuration.

Forget it, I forgot I wouldn't be using my laptop.

Bernie, I have a friend who uses his iPod for recording and mp3 playback all the time. I considered it, but went for the Zoom H2 at $199. The H2 can record wav and mp3 files of varying speeds and can hold them in separate folders. If it records, it obviously plays back, so you have the best of both worlds in a handheld package. The sound quality is exceptional. Use a 4gb SD card and you're set for life.

Bernie I have the Zune..I use it connected to the audio inputs of the G70..With the dedicated volume knob ..it is a joy to use..

Like Donny, I prefer the laptop..allows me to view 50 songs at a time and easily searched...but if you do not primarily use MP3's..the Zune/ipod is definitely the way to go.....especially with the G70...you can also add effects/eq and such with the audio inputs....You never have to reach for your mixer or amp...All controls are right there on the G70...

Only BAD thing with All these Mp3 players Except My Creative lab Touch.....when you play a song there is NO way to stop it from continuing to the next song aka SINGLE SONG PLAY....If play a song on a Ipod or Zune etc ....when the song is overt the next one starts.....or you have the choice od Random Jukebox shuffle play, or repeat.....But No STOP after ONE SONG Argggg....that's why I love my Creative Touch it has that feature which is essential on stage. But you knew that already right

Thanks guys, I will rethink the pro's and cons. No single song turns me off cold.

Bernie,
I have the I-pod you are thinking about. I use it and enjoy it but not for playing out. I feel it is too small and unforgiving when you handle it. You do not have much control over the unit.
It does not sound as good as my laptop – like you I would like to leave the laptop home. Creative lab Touch looks very interesting.

Again, my H2 has THAT feature too. $199

I read 82 reviews on the H2, and they were 99% good. It is certainly a contender.

It seems you are limited to 4gb SD card, but that's a lot of storage AND you could use more than one card.

My MP3 library is nearly 60 gigs..The Zooms won't cut it for me...although track once would be appreciated...Zune will update the feature soon...I hope..

Fran, my PC music library is around 60gb also, but I rarely use most of that. I know it's just nice to have it around, but a 4gb SD card or two would more than likely hold whatever is need.

I'm not trying to sell the Zoom to anyone. I'm just struck with the expense of the current mp3 players as compared to the H2. A 60gb iPod Classic is at least $249.
