Is it possible to use my Roland Pk-5 pedals with my G70 to play pedal bass? If this is possible how do I do it?

Thanks,

tom

Definitely, Tom. I'm sorry I'm not near my owner manual, but there is definitely a section that deals with using the PK5 with the G70. Contact Fran, he can help.

Yes Tom

(I use Fatar bu PK5 fine) just plug midi out from bass to midi in on G70 , you need to set up midi on keyboard so that MBS channel number is same as pedals - atleast that's what i have done ... you only have to set up the midi preset once (but have to select it each time you power up)

You also have to assign the correct bass voice /volume to the MBS channel - all a bit fiddly ..

I'm not keen on midi though - the Tyros 2 with the registick plus add on apprently does this all for you - which is making me think of switching keyboards

The PK5 is pretty good but not quite as good as a built in pedalboard as you see on organs as it tends to wobble / can slip a bit - i recommend a H frame (you can then fit a swell pedal alongside (but probably not enough space for any other controller devices)
