I tried a few in the store yesterday with the floor model but the unit was a bit to Deep for them......what are you S900 users using that is thick enough & not too loose with a nice snug fit?

links appreciated?

dnj...

I purchased the Yamaha YBS611 bag from samash.com (ordered it online) and it fits great. It has wheels & shoulder strap. I couldn't find abag in any retail store that would fit the s900.

It's on yamaha website, under keyboards/ accessories.

Donny,

I just ordered the YSB611 on-line for $59 + $12 shipping (it's in stock). They have it at $79 but matched Contois Music - (out of stock).

Dnj,

The wheels are a great feature and saves my back many times over !
http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemID=62067

I had one similar to that for my PSR3000 with the inset wheels and it was great and inexpensive as well.

Nice cases, but I should of mentioned I dont want wheels at all...no need for them and their extra weight & size....all my gear goes on a Rock N Roller R10.....no need to carry anything. Thanx for the link....

Does anyone have any suggestions for a 76 keyboard? I have a semi-rigid Gator with wheels, but I'd like something softer and lighter for my e60.

And it almost doesn't fit. I have the YBV and it is a major pain to get the keyboard in that case. its about an inch too short, but if you tug and yank and can cuss good you can eventually get it in there.

Uh Oh - I wish I would've known that before I ordered - and it's on the way too! I sure can cuss, so maybe I'll be OK.

39 5/8" x 17 1/8" x 5 7/8"
(1003 x 433 x 148 mm)

These are the S900 dimensions....

I would suggest the Guardian 61 case ....
in side there are are four adjustable Velcro square Foam blocks that you can put anywhere on the sides to compensate for the few inches of extra space if needed....

The Guardian case is a featherweight hard shell case. The keyboard fits, but the case wouldn't fit in my trunk.

I like the Kaces 9KB. There is a little space left over laterally - about 3 1/2 inches. I use the space for a container where I keep my headset mic, mic cable, and a/c adapter.

Beaky.....
thanx for the info that was my second choice......looks like a real nice soft case.
http://www.8thstreet.com/prod.asp?pid=21182

Is it padded well also? I see the dimension are a few inches longer in lenght but the others are right.... (44.5 x 17 x 6.5)

the 3 pockets are a nice touch also.

I had the Kaces 9KB for awhile too and got rid of it. I'd call it more of a dust cover than a case. almost no padding at all.

Ghadddsssss -

Got the Yamaha YBV-611 in today for my S900 and I must say that it caused me to cuss way too much. No way - no fit. Sent it back and got the Kaces 9KB-61. Geeshhh Yamaha, change your bag recommendations!

Let us know how you like the Kaces. As I said, I had that one too and all I can say is I'd definitely recommend you do some extra padding yourself. The Kaces is Very Thin.

Yes, it is surprising how many of the bags have GREAT padding and protection for the underside, where there is nothing to damage, but light and flimsy on top, where all the sliders, knobs and displays are (and you are likely to have things on top, if not careful)...

Should be the other way around, IMO

The best advice I have for soft bags is to purchase a bag that is somewhat oversize, one that has at least an inch or two of clearance in all directions. Then line all the bag's inner surfaces with Ethafoam, which is a closed cell, pollyethelyne foam that is stiff, yet still provides a great deal of cushioning. Place an additional inch of soft foam padding on the top layer to protect the buttons, keys and display. The cost of the foam and soft padding averages about $50 and it will last for decades. My current bag is nearly 15 years old, it is padded as described above, and I think I'll probably get another 15 years out of it.

Actually, the Yamaha case was nicely padded on top and I'm sure the bigger one would've been too - but very expensive and wheels - no thanks.

It pays to buy better padded bags..why buy a flimsy bag and have to modify it..makes no sense to me..I can see if you already have one and need to pass time modifying it..

The Gator[good one] bag with wheels ..is good..
The Gigskinz isn't bad.
And padded bags like the one Donny ordered or any ProTec designed case will do fine...

Don't ever carry a keyboard in a blanket ..it may slip out into a puddle of water etc..... Right Zuki..

And Mo is playing it dangerous just throwing his E-60 in the back seat...undressed...{the keyboard..not Mo]..

Yep,

It slipped off the blanket, upside down from the top of my cart on to the wet pavement. After physical examination, it is perfect in every aspect. Who says plastic isn't durable

Mo... you still live in Florida? That touch-screen can get fried if left in direct sunlight for even a few minutes. Park your car with the sun on the screen, go find the manager and find out where you you are playing, come back ten minutes later, you could have a dead, ruined screen...

At the very least, cover it with a reflecting or white car window shade if you leave it unattended even for a minute (surprising how those minutes multiply!), not just for the heat issue, but what about thieves (they don't have those in Miami? )?
