One of the new products featured at the NAMM 2008 show.
http://www.musictrades.com/NAMMProductNEwsRecap.pdf

The Ford Smart Ass line of seats feature
advanced Swedish pressure-relieving
memory foam. This is the real, highly
expensive memory foam found in
some of the finest mattresses in the
world—making the Smart Ass the only
musician’s throne engineered to conform
perfectly to one’s unique shape,
providing superior comfort and support.
The new seat back design raises the
comfort level of the Smart Ass for those
needing a little extra lumbar support.

If I remember correctly, Donny was looking for a good seat. I can't think of one more appropriate.

I don't know, chas... That last comment (and a few others recently!) might put you on the potential customer list too (along with me and half this forum's membership!)...

Tony as you can see by reading some posts that went out the window way before new years. It is what it is.

The intent of this post was to inform our members of the highlights of the NAMM show and also inject a little humor with the title.

However some of our members seem to have a knack for high-jacking a post, and turning it into a lot of wasted negative energy.

Regards,

Jerry

Maybe some of us just made a New Year's Resolution to not take everyone so seriously...?

Come on in, zuki (and the rest of you worrywarts!), the water's lovely...

The seat looks good though, but since when is Ford entering the music industry?

Can we expect surprising take overs?

Okay, let me put this to bed. To all you recent converts to the 'holier-than-thou' brigade, I'm truly sorry for hurting Donny's feelings. I guess I just forgot what a sensitive human being he is. I wan't you to know that I am suffering a huge case of poster's remorse. However, like Diki, I can't say for sure how long it will last .

C'mon guys, one of surest signs of old age is when you start taking yourselves too seriously. Remember the good ol' days when it was alright for guys to kid each other (as long as you respected the boundaries - nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and race). If you 'resemble these remarks', lighten' up.

While these things may be OK for players with shorter, 61 note keyboards, I would advise anyone with a 76 or bigger to take a p(ass)...

There's a reason pianos have BENCHES, not stools... To get good hand position at the extremes of the keyboard, especially when both hands are at one end, it is necessary to 'scoot' over just a tad, and these types of stools make it impossible. The twisting and bending of your torso and arms don't make for much comfort during this time, and lead to improper technique and strain.

Kind of like the contortions some of us make trying to turn a little ribbing into a full blown conflict...

OK chas, maybe I am getting old, and I DO prefer the "ol' days" when it was alright to kid each other ... but that kidding got out of hand, and I just wouldn't want that to happen again ...

Tony, go back and read my initial post (complete with smiley face). If that's "out of hand" to you, you must have grown up in a monastery. Plus, if it's so bad, why do you keep fanning it back to life? Go back and read the last line of Diki's last post, I think he nailed it.
