In the email I received from Korg yesterday, my Korg District Manager has asked that we don't share too much information which was sent to each dealer until the official showing at NAMM on January 17. There is a picture of the PA500 which was sent to me and it looks just like the PA800. The major difference I believe is the lack of sampling and it has an SD card slot rather than the two USB thumb drive ports. We won't know more until NAMM.

i dont know about that picture...

because george just said that pa500 looks just like pa800.
and that would make sense, since pa50 looked just like pa80.

but this small picture shows us something that does not really look like any korg before.
no?

on the other hand, maybe this is an intentional effect designed by korg...
i am curious!

Pa500

Pa800

I like the look better than the pa800. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the pa800 sound wise. It's over a grand less than the pa800 but of course less polyphony, no Sampler, no TC Helicon, so evidently much less feature packed. But if the sounds are comparable to the pa800 then it will be a big seller in my opinion even with 40 less voice polyphony, etc.

Best,
Mike

Certainly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I can't say I like the look of either instrument...it's the blue color that takes away from it most of all.

Funny, 'cause Korg were sorta the leader with the "silver sleek" look several years ago, but sadly, the designers must have wanted a "new" look....unfortunately, I think it gives these keyboards a more toy-like look...almost cartoonish...the PA500 a bit more so.

I hope keyboard companies return to black finish...it always looked rich and professional.
