In order to change styles and utilize the default tempo associated with that particular style you must end the style, or press the stop button. The keyboard assumes that you wish to utilize the same tempo with any style that is playing, even if you change to another style.

Hope this helps,

Gary

It is selectable in the Setup menus. I can't recall exactly where it is, but there is a screen that allows you to choose to have a new style keep the same tempo as the previous one. Or, use the default tempo of the new style as soon as it is loaded. I'm sure somebody else can point you to the exact setup screen.

On the new PSRS700 oriental you can select "function" go to style parameters and you can select "freeze" or "off". Off allows the factory default tempo's to take hold and freeze keeps the tempo the same no mater which style you choose.

George,

I don't believe that feature was available with the PSR-1000, 2000, 1500 or 3000 operating system.

Gary,
I just got in a used PSR3000 and you are correct. Only on the new 700, 700oriental and 900 can you select if you want the tempo to change or hold when you select a new style.
