Hi Joe,
depends on what you're after.
I considered it a piano that had style functions. It wasn't a full fledged arranger.

best wishes

Hi

We are just trying to find a keyboard that is really easy to use and plenty of sounds/styles.

My cousin, Andrew, who you may remember had the KN7000 though had to sell due to lack of space - we all miss playing just a lot of them are extremely over priced and we can't afford something so high up. Our budget is $500-$600.

We are considering

1) Roland GW7
2) Yamaha DGX520

Thanks
Joe

The DGX520 is winning because it has the score/lyrics feature built in and the amount of keys, though we have been considering Roland for something new as we have had Yamaha a lot in the past.

Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,
I had an earlier model DGX305.
I actually used it as a controller for One Man Band software.
What I didn't particularly like about it was the styles only had 2 variations a couple of fill ins & can't remember whether it actually had 1 or 2 intro's & endings..
Also I could only load one user style at a time, which was a bit cumbersome.
If you're planning on using some of the user styles floating around the various user groups, the styles may need to be edited down to suit the dgx & it's 2 variations instead of the normal psr's 4..
I don't really know anything about the newer DGX520, but the specs still only mention the same 2 variation styles.
Below is the manual link, you may get a bit more info from it. http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/result.php?model=DGX-520

Unless you particularly need 88 or 76 keys, have you maybe considered an earlier model like the psr1500. They've only recently been replaced by the PSRS700 http://music.yamaha.com/products/categoryProducts.html?categoryId=20021&hierarchy_id=20023_16277

Price wise in the USA I wouldn't have a clue whether it would be within your budget or not. I'm in Aust. They were a bit more of a budget priced board though. Maybe some of the suppliers still have the odd one left.

As far as an arranger goes,I much prefer my psr1500 to the dgx305.

One good thing about Yamaha's isthat there are a lot of user groups & user styles around.

Sorry, I can't comment on the Roland. I haven't seen one.

best wishes
Rikki

I agree that a good used PSR 2000 or 1500 would be your best bet. As for new keyboards, see Fran Carango's opinion of the new Casio WK-110; just $200.
