Question: When I transpose higher or lower, the chord still appears on the screen as the orig. chord. If I give a C, but I'm transposed 5 +, which should be a F, why does it still show a C, is there a way that I can change that?

Thanks,

No, it will not display to the new key. If the chord you finger is a C chord but you transpose it to a F chord, it will still read a C chord. Not all keyboards change the display to show the new chord. Too bad...........I wish they all did.

I for one would want to see the display say whatever chord I am fingering regardless what it might be transposed to.

I prefer the way it is on Yamaha too. Maybe it's a pity it's not selectable for those who want it.
It's my fingers and brain that do the playing (with feedback from ears!) and they relate to the chord patterns that evolve around the physical keyboard, not what the key "really" is. If I play in a favored key of F it doesn't help me to know if it's really say A- & could be distracting from a chording point of view if I took notice of it.

If I want to know where I "really" am it displays the amount of +/- transpose at the top of the screen anyway.

If you are reading music and you transpose – and the chord is shown in the new key how do you follow the written music the chords will be different. (If you are using the displayed chord for reference)

Sure you know the chord you're playing- you don't need the KB to tell you that. The only use I can see for the feature is to confirm what the KB is "interpreting" your chord as.
Apart from that what other uses does it have?

The whole point of key transposing is so that you can PLAY (and THINK) in one key, while it actually SOUNDS in another. The only reason I could possibly think of for the display showing what is sounding, rather than what you 'played' is for someone reading over your shoulder with a non-transposed instrument, otherwise, it is just going to throw you off your 'thinking'.

I'm sorry, but this just sounds like one of those 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' features!

Diki, sorry – But the whole point of key transposing is not just to play in the same key, it’s much more than that.
1-Is the key the music is written in complimenting the range of the Trumpet solo?
2-Is the key in the proper range for the person doing the vocal?

Playing in the same key is just one of the reasons.

DNJ, The Capo can be used on the guitar to change the key you’re playing in, but for the most part they are used to create a chord with open strings. If I play a bar F chord on the first fret all the strings are closed (Fingered). If I place the Capo on the first fret and finger an E chord I have an F chord with open strings. Open strings are used for many types of music, country being one.

Sorry, But I had to say that, John C.
