Hi friends.

1. On the PSR740, the XG voices were way lower in sound as compared to the regular MIDI ones, so changing from one type to the other needed volume adjustments. Has that been fixed in the 2000 so that they play at comparable volumes now?

2. On the PSR740 the MultiPads would not go out via MIDI channel. They were wired to the amplifier for local play only. That means they would not record in a MIDI song. Do they go out as regular MIDI in the 2000?

I may upgrade to 2000 later.

Thanks.

Hi,
The XG voices on PSR 2000 also have less volume than Panel voices.

On PSR 2000 we can record Pads when recording our song.

I understand why XG voices have less volume. The XG is to mainly play external MIDIs and these have usually 127 assigned to each track volume.

Yamaha had used this philosophy also in earlier Keyboards like 630, 730 and 740.

I find the PSR 2000's XG volume to be level with the panel voices. I just tested right now to see if that were really the case. If I were gigging, and if I wanted to substitute an XG voice for a panel voice on the fly, I wouldn't have to mess with the main volume.

I agree with Beakybird, the XG voices volume levels approximate the main voices much better than past KBs.
