FedEx man is dropping off the new psr2000 today! I’ll be up way past my bedtime tonight! Anyway, after reading more post in this forum, I’m a little confused on the term “Arranger.” What’s the difference between this and a workstation? I saw a Motif6 go for $1250 on eBay last night and that’s not bad for a “Workstation.”

Arranger: A keyboard with the ability to play styles/auto-accompaniment usually in the leftmost side of the keyboard. It may or may not also be able to record tracks on the unit.

Workstation: A keyboard that has the ability to record MIDI tracks onboard the unit (no styles).
Examples:
Yamaha PSR2000: Arranger with MIDI recording
Yamaha Motif: Workstation (no Styles)
Yamaha S90: Performance keyboard (No styles - no MIDI recording on board)

I bet you Guys are glad you don't live next door to me. I was up till 4:00am jamming with wailing vocals and all. This keyboard is spelling trouble.

Beachbum,
Congrats and Enjoy! It is a great machine. I've had mine since August and spend many a late night playing on it.
Luckily my nearest neighbors are 1/3-1/2 mile away from here so I don't have to worry about disturbing them. The kids are another thing. That is why I use the headphones at night but still can't get away from the vocals sounding out.
Hope you have many more hours of enjoyment with it.

- Brian
