You will notice that he is actually playing the keyboard instead of using SMF.

He is a fine demonstrator, no doubt about it.

No, in my opinion, they aren't, Donny...they are controlled in real time...even with markers, SMF are very limiting.

When using SMF you can't do chord substitutions, change the "feel" of a tune by switching styles...just to to name a few disadvantages.

That why I don't use them...but, to each his own.
