Hi!!!

I purchased PSR-550 last week and I am facing a serious problem while recording songs using Multi-Track recording feature.

The problem is that there is a little misalignment (out-of-synchronization) in the Rythm track whenever I use Punch-in Punch-out feature to re-record an already recorded Melody track (All other functions seem to be normal.....).

For example if I re-record a Melody track from Measure-05 to Measure-10 there is a glitch coming in the Rythm track at exactly the same Measure from where I started re-recording the Melody track (i.e. Measure-05 here).

Even if I delete (clear) the complete Rythm track and again record it in the same song file the glitch cannot be removed!!!

I reset the Keyboard, changed the Floppy disk, recorded a new song but whenever I use re-recording from a measure different from Measure-00 the glitch could be easily observed in the Rythm Track.

If this problem is with my set only I need to contact the dealer asap....Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards
Lokesh

Congratulations on the purchase of your PSR550. I don't use the recording feature very often, but I can try this tonight and let you know. Are you recording the rythm using styles?

Hi Starkeeper!
Thanks for your reply...

I am recording the Rhythm using preset style and I tried with the 20th preset style...

Please try it in your keyboard and let me know the results.....

Thanks

I hope starkeeper can help you out on this one.. I too own a PSR-550, but I am on vacation and my keyboard is about 6 1/2 hours away at the moment. Starkeep has a good understanding in regards to using the 550. I'll try it when I get home. I haven't really messed with the punch in and out recording.

Lokesh,
I was playing the PSR550 last night, and I was recording as well (something I don't often do), but I totally forgot to do the test for you. I apologize, will do this tonight (if I don't forget) . Any particular tempo I should try this at?

Lokesh,
I did a test last night using style #20 (6/8 Rythm):
1) Recorded the style first
2) Recorded melody track on track 1
3) Did a punch/in at 5 and puch out at 10.
I don't hear the glitch. I emailed you the MIDI file. Have you tried other rythms?

Hi Starkeeper

Thanks for your help.

I tried other rhythms also but I am getting the same result. I would try to hear the MIDI file and let you know the result.

Please try with other rhythms also if possible starting the re-recording at different measures in same song files.
Also try to record just by using 'Start recording measure=...' instead of using punch-in Punch-out feature.

Thanks
Lokesh

Hi Starkeeper

I listen to the MIDI file you sent. It sounds fine. I also tried doing the same steps as you did but this time I did not get any glitch even on my keyboard...!...

I would try the songs again in which I got that glitch earlier and would send you the MIDI file and the steps I took to record it.

Thanks
Lokesh
