But why has he purchased a board that came out long before the 3000? (The SD1 is 5 or 6 years old now)

Way to go, Donny. I'm sending my deposit for the SD-5 on Monday. AJ will help with set-up, etc.
My first Solton (Ketron) was an auto orchestra I used with guitar in the 80's. Control box and 13 note bass pedals. Held the right bass note with your left foot and used your right toe and heel on the volume pedal for minors, 7ths, etc. Still have it around here somewhere.
Thanx capt......just got in from the Sd1+ maiden voyage gig.....had to break her cherry on stage.......went off without a hitch less the 24 hrs after I got ithere... spent all night doing my homework on it but It was worth it .....it really sounds awesome!
Congratulations Donny, I just got back from vacation. What a surprise. Sd's have a bit of a learning curve but they do sound great (especially the drums). Hope you enjoy your new keyboard.
It's an awesome KB 36lbs with the smallest footprint in its class......so far I've done 5 gigs with it and it is really growing on me ......the 76 semi weighted keys are a big plus, besides the great "LIVE" in your face KETRON styles & sounds.....OS is a no brainer for me ....since I've owned the X1/XD9/Midjay I'm very glad I got it....more to come....
Hi Donny, I knew you had the Midjay, wasn't aware you had the X1 & XD9 as well at an earlier stage. Sure hope you do some demo's at some stage, I used to enjoy your Midjay demo's.
Personally I found I had a bit of a learning curve with my SD1+ , but in my case it was the first Ketron I'd ever owned, & the manual at times was as clear as mud . The SD does so much.
Prior to going away, I'd finally managed to sort out one of my pet peeves as far as style editing goes using EMC, ie I missed the event list editing of styles some of my prior keyboards had, but using a combination of EMC software & a pc sequencer I can now edit to my hearts content. haahaa)
Rikki, Im falling love minute by minute with the SD=1 ....didn't know how mush I miss the Ketron sound & styles....once I get completely ready I will send you a few tunes OK.....I only let my true "tired lounge singer" fans enjoy my work wish you well with your music also.....
