I am a Banjo Player who has in the past recorded accompaniment tracks with my Technics KN2000 keyboard. I am thinking about buying The Yamaha PRS-9000 keyboard and wonder if I can step record chord and rhythm styles on it. I am not a keyboard player and need to enter this sequencer data slowly and not in real time. The floor salesman didn't have a clue. Can somebody help me?

If you buy the PSR9000, make sure it has Version 2.0 software installed or you can download this from the Yamaha web site. Ver.2.0 does allow you to step record both styles and songs. There is a new owners manual out for Version 2.0 which explains this ability. You can read the manual before you buy on the Yamaha Web Site.
