Isn't that close to the price of a tyros II?
or did I convert that to US dollars wrong.

it works out at around £1300 - £1400 GBP. This may be the RRP - after retailer discounts, it should be the same price as the PSR 3000, or thereabouts.

My sources tell me the PSR-S900 will be the same as the PSR-3000.

Looks like the screen is the same as the 3000 and confirmed to have the same resolution (320x240). Also looks like the screen is fixed and can't be positioned like the Tyros.

Dimensions of the S900 as follows:

100.2cm (W)
43.2cm (D)
14.4cm (H)

compared to the 3000:

97.3cm (W)
39.9cm (D)
16.7cm (H)

no word on the weight of the S900 yet.

So much for my custom hard case for the 3000. In any case I probably won't be upgrading until the next model anyway. I'm still getting "into" the 3000 at this point.

If the S900 turns out to be a significant upgrade from the 3000, I might be interested in selling or trading my Tyros 2. Although the T2's a great board, I miss the internal speakers from my old 3000 and its smaller size, which fits better in my cracker box studio. If the overall sound and styles are close to the T2, that's good enough for me, especially if the styles are polished, useful, and professional-sounding.

The PSR 3000 was pretty pretty much as close as possible to the Tyros1 when it came out... this will probably be the same case with the S900 to the T2. same kind of styles/sounds except the key feel/aftertouch and not as good DSPs...

I just hope the S900 introduces brand new styles that are not on the T2 like the PSR 3k did... and then we can just import them into our T2 and everyones a winner!!!
