Yesterday my PSR200 experienced it's first and hopefully last, 4 foot drop test to the tile floor. Happy to report all seems ok, except for one noisy E key when pressing it down slowly. I couldn't count how many times I have handled keyboards over the years and never dropped one. The worse part about it was that I was completely sober. Anyone out there replace a key(or key the mechanism) on the PSR2000 yet? Probable to new for that.

There is a first time for everything.

My condolences!

Gosh! I hope you can fix that thing. I know a 16 year old tech whizz where I live, and he fixed my pitch bend wheel after I dropped my PSR 740 a year and a half ago. I paid him $20 an hour which was much better than the $80 an hour charged by the Yamaha authorized electronic shop. He soddered the broken connection and crazy glued the broken plastic in 45 minutes. You need to be careful not to void the warranty when you go to order parts. If I didn't know a mechanically oriented person who would do it for cheap, I might cough up the dough and bring it to a Yamaha repair. Well the downside of that is that they might take a long time to fix it. You might ask them to find out what part is needed and close the keyboard and give it back to you so you wouldn't have to wait until the broken part came. Then you would be without the keyboard for days and not weeks.

Touche Uncle Dave....my sentiments exactly!!!

Man, there's nothing worse than that sick feeling as the board starts to slip away...at that moment, a sharp razor blade to the wrist seems preferable Hang in there brian

That's o.k. It does sound like the kind of smart-alec remark Uncle Dave would say!

Oh, NOOOOOOOOOOO!

My last hobby (before a Wall Street insider friend told me to invest heavily in arr/keyboards) was high-end airguns, thousand- to two thousand-dollar objects of joy and target-bullseye-obliterating pleasure. And that's not counting the accessories (Scuba tanks, high-powered scopes, etc.) that are also necessary to extract the full power and accuracy of these marvels of air power, some capable of sending a soft-lead .22 pellet clean through a pine two-by-four. Who needs firearms?

Anyway, there were a few drops in my time, and I do indeed know the sickening feeling -- and I truly commiserate with ya, bud.

Now, to get my first KEYboard drop over and done with...
