Scott...
You are getting some great advice here, especially from TomC and Stephenm52. Same advice that was given to me years ago.

I tried songs like "Evergreen" and "The Greatest Love"....just not my style. The formal training you have had really shines on most of the songs I have heard you do. I wouldn't even attempt to do some of the broadway things you do..and do so well.

Do you recall an album that Pat Boone put out years ago with a picture of him in leather? That went beyond NOT being his style or image. Even Rod Stewart's attempt at American Classics seems a bit strange to me.

You gotta love the Mick and the Stones for staying true to their music and not selling out to do cross-over country.

Eddie

Scott, great job. Your voice as always sounds great!

I particularly liked the accompaniment riffs. Wish I could do that!

Thanks

Graham

Much better the second time around Scott. Vocals and the T2's harmonies are better, very nice style used and I liked the guitar sounds used. I still think your voice is more suited to the usual stuff you sing/play but it's nice to see you branching out into a different area. Change is good and you put your own stamp onto the song without trying to sound exactly like the Eagles, which is impossible for a 1 man show lol

I like this one much better...harmony issues cleared up,phrasing more in line with the arrangement(which is mixed much better)and your voice is more confident sounding.
This doesn't sound exactly like the Eagles, and I'm sure you didn't intend for it to be that way...it is your interpretation of their song and it is excellent.
You have your style and it's going to be imposed on whatever material you sing. Some people will love it because they love your characteristic style of singing...some won't because it isn't identical to the Eagles.
I commend you for having the testicular fortitude to try material you wouldn't ordinarily do,and I think you did a fine job not selling out your own distinctive style, but rather adapting the song to your way of expression.
Great interpretation and very professional recording.
Ian

Mike, the SMALL WMA version is still 5612985. What's that, 56 megs? You oughta see the WAV file of it!!
Problem is I recorded it live and it is the entire song, plus a little BS at the beginning and end, 7 minutes, 49 seconds.
