As an owner of a Roland VA-76, I have some questions.

1. Can i connect my Roland to the Computer in order to edit, record, use samples, arpeggiator from SONY ACID PRO ?

2. If so, How do i connect my Roland to the computer and what settings do i have to adjust in order for Sony Acid Pro to recognize my keyboard?

( I could as well buy a Yamaha Motif ES, but i thought that connecting my Roland VA-76 to the computer with SONY ACID PRO, i could do the same things you can do on a Motif. )

( so far i have a midisport cable and i don't know if it's useful )

Thank you very much.

Quick answer, claudiu... Acid is better if you want to work with sampled loops a LOT, Cubase is better if you want to work with MIDI a LOT.

Both will do both, but there is a bias...

Me.. I'd go with Cubase 4 (or SX3). I've been using it since the Atari days, and IMO, it's still the best app for MIDI, which you will be doing a LOT of if you use your VA76 as more than just a trigger for the loops...

Oh, and get StylusRMX if you get Cubase (or even AcidPro). Better loops are hard to find...
