As usual, I booked more Christmas parties this year than I should have, worked my butt into the ground and did lots of doubles. The paychecks, however, made much of this arduous task well worthwhile. In addition to the improvements in the bank balance, there are other rewarding things I enjoy every holiday season. Just thought I would share six of them with you.

Enjoy,

Gary

My top ten reasons why I'm glad the Christmas gig season is over:

10. Multi-layers of Christmas music coming from all directions in mid-November.
9. Playing "Home For The Holidays" for people who are obviously far away from home for the holidays.
8. The looks you get from people who are tired of Christmas music.
7. The lady yelling into her cellphone: "I CAN'T HEAR YOU - THEY HAVE LIVE MUSIC HERE".
6. "I can sing Jingle Bells in Spanish - wanna hear me?" (one old lady kept saying this to me over and over one evening).
5. Christmas sing-a-longs.
4. "How much would you charge to come to our house and just play Jingle Bells?"
3. Listening to another act perform Christmas Music badly on New Year's Eve.
2. "We want you to setup right next to the front door..."
1. Now that Christmas is over, tipping is back in fashion.
