I hear ya Tony.....

Also these younger couples want to hear the "EXACT" song they hear on the radio or CD's, which means something special to them, Not a cover done by a live player most of the time.
Sometimes your better off just playing the CD/Mp3 of the Wedding song.

I believe there is a tune called "I like my women a little trashy" or something like that.

"My One And Only Love" Johnny Hartman, Nancy Wilson, Sting, Sinatra, John Coltrane. One of the prettiest top 5 tunes of all time.

You'll have to work at this one a bit, but it's sure to be pretty with you singing it Dave.

If you know it already let us know.

Speaking of Jim Brinkman-

You are my destiny.

The Prayer- Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli- Nice song also but I don't think its the first dance kinda song.

.. it wouldn't be the first time, or the last, especially if it's something obscure, or a tune that's going to last about as long as the recording takes to play ... ...

I have also had a couple of requests for Edwin McCain's "I Could Not Ask for More" ... and last night I started working on Lonestar's "Amazed By You" after hearing Angelo (cam8neel) sing it on Friday nite...
(I'm not too old to learn, Ang)

When I first started in this business MANY decades ago, Because of You, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, Always, were still very popular wedding songs ... but once "More" won the Oscar in '63, I would have to say that was THE most popular request for the next 20 years or so....

Tony,

As an Entertainer Sometimes it's the best way to go ....why practice for days just one tune you will only play for 2 minutes "First Dance" if you dont have it in your repetoir.
Just play the original CD/Mp3...
Your Happy and the Wedding Couple is Happy.

Hi Guys.

Over here in Ireland we just ask them what they want. It’s the easy way out I know, but at least if someone disagrees with it, you can say… HEY don’t blame me, I didn’t pick the song. The bride and groom did.

That shuts them up 100% ever time.

Anyway….one of the most asked for song as a first dance here is “Everything I do” by Brian Adams.

Bye.
James.
