I think Scott has a few items that should be fixed,,maybe Yamaha took care of his concerns...
All this time I thought Yamaha had it right when they released their products...now they have updates[for a repackaged product at that]...

Now, at least, rolandfan will have an excuse to flame Yamaha as well as Roland!

Maybe now he can change his handle to yamahafan..........

Roel,
I think the updates are to the USB-Midi Driver for the Tyros2.
I got a cd with version 2.1.3 on it and they have since updated to 2.1.4, then 2.1.5 and yesterday I got 2.1.6.
None of them work for me so there must be a problem in my computer with all the Technics stuff and drivers in it. I may need to clean house as the driver and utility program on that cd installed fine and works ok in my new Toshiba Satellit Laptop. The laptop doesn't have much installed in it yet so no conflict there. I guess I will get it all figured out one of these days.

I would flame yamaha if the tyros2 needed an upgrade to correct the sounds (which it doesnt) or if it requires as many upgrades as the g70. One user at harmony central described the g70 as a repackaged va76. Just my $0.02

I am amazed at how many people in my email lists have returned the G 70, or already sold it. One guy I know who might post here after my post, bought the G 70 and traded in his Technics KN7000. He tried to trade back but the dealer wouldn't swing for it so he bought the KN7000 back and now has both. I think he is adapting to the G 70 now.
I had originally considered the G 70 but after all the reports I got in my emails I decided to go for the Tyros 2 and I am happy with that decision. I had also considered the PA1X and although I bought the tyros, I might still buy the KORG
