I set mine up on foot switch 1. But every time I turn the keyboard on, the sustain is locked on. I have to tap the pedal once, and from there on it functions normally. Any ideas what's wrong?

Tom, could it have something with polarity
switch on your footcotroller, or similiar
possability for settings at the keyboard?

I once had a pedal who caused such behavior,
it had a switch for + and -.

Tom, I started to type a post to you telling you that I didn't think the polarity was wrong on your sustain switch. If it was when you pushed it the sustain would go off & when you released it it would come back on.
I turned my 2000 on to try it and see how mine acted. I must have pushed something wrong!! It went crazy!! the sustain would no longer work. I couldn't asign the peddle to any thing else. If I pushed the first the #1 reg. button & pushed the peddle it would go to the next & next til it got to 8 then it would do nothing. I spent all afternoon trying to get it to work.
I have all my USER data backed up on a floppy. So I went in "Utility" to "System Reset", Factory Reset Setup & push "System Setup"
It said I would loose all my USER data, but I can't see where I've lost anything. I have a lot of user styles, their still there.
Fixed the problem??? Never did know what I done wrong!

I might try a system reset. I don't have anything special to lose. Also, I'm going to round up another sustain pedal to see if that makes a difference.
Glad to hear you didnt't fry your PSR2000 permanently!

Tom,
Thats one of the things I tried! Another Sustain sw. that is. Still can't figure what I did wrong!! If you try System Reset, let me knowhow you come out. I'd like to know if that solves your problem. If you have any user styles, put them on a floppy, that will make it a lot earier to put them back if you do lose them. I put all my song registrations
on a floppy, and lock them out so they can not be deleted or recorded over.
