hi diki, i thought i could get used to it over time...i felt this way pretty much as soon as i opened the box, but the feel was a lot better than either the e50/60 or the pa800, so i thouhgt okay maybe the other things the board does might make a compromise possible..that is why i gave it so long...another thing it does not do well is slash chords, it has this button that says it plays the lowest note in a chord, but if you try to do say a C, C/B, C/Bb C/A you cant because instead oh holding the cmaj tonality of your chord it plays (in the same order) a cmaj7,c7,c6 progression...this is a feature that korg yamah and roland have all addressed and made happen......ill repeat i dont mind the rhythms and some sounds etc, but the keyfeel is why i was wanting to trade to the midjay, but then add say the kurzweil PC1se,a 76 note fully weighted keyboard, PLUS the kurz pianos are some of the best going around too!! but it looks like its not gonna happen unless i take a HUGE hit financially so i will now have to deal with it...i dont think i will buy the g1000..as i said i dont usually go backwards in tech, and it is nearly 10 years old now....it is SO, SO frustrating not being in or near a city i've gotta tell you...
anyway sorry about the long winded answer, but yes i did want to give the board a decent go before i decided to bail..
cheers
dennis

Hi Dennis,
where on earth did you have it listed?
I check Aust. ebay nearly every day & have never noticed an sd1 for sale.

best wishes

I know it's a pain but why don't you midi it to a digital piano then you will have the feel you want. The new Casio pianos are cheap, 88 keys, play well and light. the sd and the casio probably weight less than my G70.

Miden, if you can get like $700-$800 more for it in another country, maybe you should offer the keyboard on Ebay to more countries.

hey montana, yeah i've thought of that, but i really dont want to lug to keyboards..and beaky its a good idea but shipping costs from australia to anywhere in the world for an item this big just make it way too expensive...eg to ship to the states would cost around $650 AU!!!
but thanks for your suggestions...i think i have decided to just "put up with it" and put it down to experience...
cheers
