I downloaded the text file, read it into MS Word, which recognized the tabs, converted it to a table, set text to 8 point (so the width of the table would fit on one page), and printed out 29 pages. A great reference! Many thanks for providing it. It seems to be the same data that Robby pointed to in the PDF format. I currently only have the 540, but the 740, 8000, and 9000 suggestions can be approximated if not duplicated entirely, and this data set provides lots of ideas for experimenting with arrangements.

The link to the Excel file tries to show an MS Excel in a browser and comes up, basically, unusable. The text format also comes up in the browser window (as opposed to be offered as a file to download), but that data can be copied and then pasted into a local file. It will take some work, but I think I can fix it up. It does, indeed, appear to be the contents of the "Music Database" -- exactly what I was looking for. I don't have the 9000, but the information can be used to set up other Yamaha instruments as well. Thanks!

Hi Joe & Robby & All
The links work fine for me. It does show up as an Excel sheet in the browser window. But then, you can just go...
"File.... Save As...." and it will save the page as an Excel worksheet. It is a nice piece of work.
Tom

When I saw the unprintable characters in my browser, it simply never occurred to me to save the file. I did as you suggested, Tom, and, sure enough, there it was. Great Tip. Thanks, again Robby. I didn't need the Excel viewer, I have Excel 2000, but I was unaware that my browser, which wasn't displaying the file correctly, could, nonetheless, save the file in the original format. This file will be a great resource for me.
